National Honor Society

In order to join the National Honor Society, students must not only have high grades but also demonstrate a willingness to give to others through service in their school and local communities. They must be willing to lead when the occasion arises and exhibit good character by always making the right choices.

Mrs. Dooley asks five teachers to serve on the Faculty Council.

The selection process for membership consists of the following:

* Juniors and seniors with an 89.5% grade point average are invited to fill out a student activity form.

* After the Faculty Council reviews the form and receives faculty input, chosen candidates are asked to participate in an interview.  National guidelines state that no one is extended an invitation to join based solely on grades.

* The Faculty Council selects members based on the National Honor Society's four tenets: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

* Caring and helping others, taking charge in group situations, being active in school and community, and having a strong sense of values to guide in decision making are all important components for membership.
