FBLA District 7 Fall District Meeting
Posted Date: 10/15/26 (10:09 AM)

On October 6, 41 students from the Little Falls FBLA Chapter attended the District 7 Fall District Meeting at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica. New York State FBLA District 7 is comprised of eight school districts: Canastota, Chittenango, Clinton, Frankfort-Schuyler, Holland Patent, Little Falls, Oriskany, and Utica Proctor.
The day began with a general session, followed by four interactive workshops designed to develop leadership, communication, creativity, and teamwork skills. Students participated in:
● Program of Work and State Officer Information Session: Learning about FBLA opportunities, upcoming events, and state leadership.
● Bracelet Bingo: A fun networking activity that encouraged students to meet and interact with FBLA members from other schools.
● Collaborative Drawing: A creative challenge focused on communication and teamwork.
● Tower Challenge: A hands-on activity that required students to work together, think critically, and solve problems.
Students also toured SUNY Poly's business education facilities, including the AI Trading Room, which uses financial market simulations to provide hands-on experience with investing and explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in finance. The tour offered students a glimpse into innovative technology and learning opportunities at SUNY Poly..
Following lunch in the campus cafeteria, students gathered for a closing session featuring "Battle of the Chapters," a friendly competition between the participating schools.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing three of our own Little Falls students step up as leaders. When unexpectedly asked to take charge of the Collaborative Drawing workshop, Alyssa Bladek, Aleyla Dygert and Taylor Scanlon agreed without hesitation. With no time to prepare, they confidently led the activity and did an outstanding job. The meeting organizer was particularly impressed by their professionalism, initiative, and ability to lead their peers. It was a proud moment for our chapter and a great example of the leadership skills FBLA helps students develop.
Overall, the Fall District Meeting was a great experience, especially for our newer FBLA members. Students had the opportunity to connect with peers from other schools, build confidence, practice valuable skills, and learn more about what FBLA has to offer.
We look forward to returning to SUNY Poly in January for the District 7 competitive events!
