Family School Navigation (FSN) is an initiative of Perch Place, LLC. Through a holistic approach to early childhood education, FSN helps families prepare their children—and themselves—for a successful transition into school at the Little Falls City School District (LFCSD). The Family School Navigator (FSN) is embedded at Benton Hall Academy (BHA), collaborating with students, families, school staff, and community partners. Their mission is to strengthen kindergarten readiness and build a solid foundation for long-term success. The Family School Navigator serves as a bridge between families and the school community. By addressing barriers early, supporting positive family-school relationships, and aligning resources, the FSN helps ensure students enter school better prepared socially, emotionally, and academically.

 


 

Family and School Support

Mrs. Bladek supports early childhood access, engagement, and readiness by connecting families with school and community resources from birth through 5th grade. Building early relationships with students and families, increases access to resources, and strengthens transition into school and beyond. An early connection to school leads to long-term academic success.

The Family School Navigation Program:

  • Supports family literacy through the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Children ages 0-4 who live with Little Falls City School District can receive a free monthly book, Complete this form to register your child today Dolly Parton Imagination Library 
  • Shares childhood milestone development information and connects families to CPSE when needed. 
  • Connects families with Little Falls community programs that support with socialization (youth sports, community programs and events), education, health, basic needs and behavioral concerns.
  • Family School Navigator partners with the Little Falls Public Library to facilitate Prek walking field trips and family literacy events.
  • Provides guidance on navigating community, district, school and classroom related questions to build stronger family-school connections. 
  • Provides Social Emotional small and whole group lessons for Prek and Kindergarten classes. 
  • FSN provides information on Preschool and Kindergarten registration, screenings, orientation and Future Mounties events. Please complete this form if you plan on sending your child to preschool or kindergarten at Benton Hall Academy. Future Mounties Census
